A manhunt is underway in Orange County after a house fire that New York State Police say is now being considered a homicide.
State troopers are now on the hunt for 32-year-old Thomas David Ryan in connection with the incident.
It happened at a home at 512 Greenville Tpke. shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Firefighters on scene say they found thick smoke billowing into the sky when they arrived. Flames were also spreading rapidly, engulfing the entire home.
It's unknown how many people were inside when the fire broke out or if anyone was injured. The fire took less than an hour to put out.
The suspect is believed to be driving a 2016 gray Toyota Prius with the New York license plate HNH-7671. He was last seen in the area of Greenville Turnpike wearing black sweatpants and a black t-shirt.
If you see Ryan, contact State Police Middletown BCI at (845) 344-5300. NYSP say anyone near him should be cautious, as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.
