A 100-year-old handgun is off the streets after police recovered it from a suspect during an arrest over the weekend.
Ossining police officers seized a Colt .25-caliber pistol Saturday night.
Police said the firearm was unloaded.
Authorities also said the serial number on the side of the handgun had been defaced.
The suspect did not have a pistol permit, according to police.
The firearm was recovered without incident and the suspect was arrested.
