Iona Prep football coach Joe Spagnolo has been named the New York Giants High School Coach of the Week.

Spagnolo led the Gaels to a season-opening win over defending public school state champion Syracuse-CBA.

Iona Prep won the game by 20 points and snapped Syracuse-CBA's 41-game winning streak.

The award includes a $2,000 donation to the football program.
