Search resumes for missing Pennsylvania boater after vessel found adrift near Atlantic Highlands

Search crews were expected back on the water Wednesday morning as authorities continued looking for a missing boater near Atlantic Highlands.

An empty boat believed to be a commercial clamming vessel was found drifting near the end of a jetty Monday morning, according to police.

Tuesday's coverage

Atlantic Highlands police spotted the vessel around 10:45 a.m. Monday near the Seastreak pier.

Authorities said no one was on board when the boat was discovered.

Police identified the boat as belonging to a 64-year-old Pennsylvania man, but have been unable to contact him.

His name has not been released.

Search efforts on Monday and Tuesday did not locate the missing man.

Anyone with information is asked to contact New Jersey State Police.
