An injured bald eagle is receiving care after being rescued in Goshen.
Goshen Police say a passing driver spotted the female eagle on a roadway Monday and called Officers Natalie Welsh and Derrick Kenan.
The officers, along with nearby residents, worked together to keep the bird safe.
Officials followed the required protocol for handling a bald eagle and contacted a local bird rehabilitator.
The rehabilitator responded quickly and took the eagle to a veterinarian for treatment.
If her recovery goes well, officials hope to release the eagle back into the wild where she was found.
