Man taken into custody at Montgomery motel dies after medical emergency

A man died after becoming unresponsive following a police response at an Orange County motel.
Police responded to the Super 8 Motel in Montgomery around 11:30 p.m. Monday and found a man in an agitated state inside a motel room.
The man was taken into custody and initially remained conscious. Emergency medical services were requested.
He later became unresponsive and was taken to Garnet Health Medical Center for treatment.
The man went into cardiac arrest and died around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
His name has not been released.
The State Attorney General's Office has been notified. State Police are investigating.
