What to expect:

  • Monday turns sunny and breezy, with northwest winds increasing during the afternoon.

  • Much colder air arrives Monday night, with temperatures falling to around 50 in the city and into the 40s in some suburbs.

  • Tuesday will be sunny, breezy and quite cool before temperatures gradually moderate later in the week.

FORECAST

The highest rain chances arrive toward late Monday afternoon with relatively light accumulation and no heavy rain or flooding expected. Behind the departing system, northwest winds ramp up Monday afternoon into the night, reaching sustained speeds of 15 to 20 mph, with higher gusts that will make Monday evening feel noticeably colder. The main weather story early this week is the arrival of a much cooler Canadian air mass, dropping Monday night temperatures into the 40s and low 50s before capping Tuesday's highs in the low to mid-60s for a distinctly chilly fall feel.

Once showers clear, a prolonged stretch of dry weather takes hold, keeping conditions predominantly rain-free from Monday through at least Friday, with abundant sunshine and gradually moderating temperatures later in the week.
