Voters in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District have approved a revised bond proposal to create an early childhood center at the former Lewisboro Elementary School campus.

The project is designed to help the district meet New York's requirement to provide universal pre-K for all 4-year-olds by 2028 while giving the former school property a long-term purpose.

The bond will fund nearly $20 million in improvements to convert the campus into an early childhood center.

District officials said the cost will be paid off over 15 years.
