A New York City man pleaded guilty to a hate crime for stabbing a 59-year-old Jamaican woman in Newburgh.
The U.S. attorney says 33-year-old Scott Schunzel stabbed the woman in the leg for no reason other than the color of her skin.
Police say they later searched Schunzel's house and found writing and materials indicating his hatred toward Black people.
Schunzel fled to Florida, where he was arrested.
He is facing up to 10 years in prison.
