A Bronx woman and a Manhattan man were shot to death inside an apartment in East Harlem on Thursday night, according to the NYPD.

Police say they responded to a 911 call at the NYCHA Gaylord White Houses on East 104th Street and Second Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officers found 55-year-old Elsa Espina-Espinal, a home health aide from Norwood, and 66-year-old Wilgen Elias Severino-Tatis, both with gunshot wounds to the head.

Sources close to the investigation tell News 12 that Severino-Tatis was tied up when officers entered the apartment.

Detectives say paramedics pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

Information about what led up to the killings - or who may have pulled the trigger - was not immediately available.
