A 21-year-old mother from Chester died one day after giving birth.

Loved ones say that new mother Alyssa Tocyloski, who was a Monroe-Woodbury graduate, had an easy pregnancy and was excited to give birth at Garnet Health in Wallkill on April 7.

They say she died the day after undergoing a C-section.

Her family says an autopsy was performed but the results are not yet back. There has been no indication so far that something may have gone wrong with the surgery.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help to help support her newborn, Skylar Raine.

News 12 reached out to Garnet Health for comment but has not heard back.
