A joint effort by Mount Vernon police, Westchester County Police and the NYPD helped sniff out suspects in an armed robbery.
Westchester County police say Tuesday night that the NYPD reported officers were following a suspected vehicle in the armed robbery.
The driver of that vehicle travelled into Mount Vernon where Mount Vernon police took in three of five suspects.
The two others fled the scene.
That's where Westchester County Sergeant Hicks and his canine partner Madison come in.
County police say Madison sniffed the two seats they sat on, and soon, just two blocks away, Madison tracked them under a porch.
They ran off, but officers caught up, and took them both in.
County police say the arrests are testament to the power of police departments working together.
