3 found with illegal gambling machines, meds at Farmingdale delis

Illegal gambling machines and several prescription medications believed to be from South America were found inside two Farmingdale delis, police said.

According to police, two men from Lindenhurst and one from Syosset are now facing charges.

Officers responded to Gutierrez Deli and J&W Grocery Deli on Conklin Street Wednesday night as part of a quality-of-life initiative.

Police say both locations had gambling devices and drugs clearly displayed for sale.

The delis are now locked and secured.

Jorge Alejandro Pena Rodriguez, 56, of, Lindenhurst, Nicolas Gutierrez, 57, of Syosset, and Venancio Espinal Frias, 58, of Lindenhurst, were all charged with criminal diversion of prescription medication, second-degree promoting gambling, among other charges.

All three were issued appearance tickets and are due in court Feb. 19.
