News 12's Samantha Crawford is in the Alert Center profiling women who are making a difference in the Hudson Valley.

This week, News 12 wants to introduce you to Jacquiline Watkins, the owner of Newburgh Mercantile on Broadway.

Her gift shop is so unique since most of the inventory is from smaller, women-owned businesses.

When she opened up shop, she knew she wanted to highlight other powerful women and give them opportunities to shine and be successful.

Watkins started off working with local women and now is networking all over the globe.

From teachers, health care heroes, business owners to community leaders, and more, these role models will be recognized every Wednesday this month in the Alert Center!
