2h agoNews 12 learned that Friday's 4.8 magnitude earthquake may have widened some cracks at the historic Indian Rock in the Village of Montebello.
Some people who went to the site told News 12 they noticed that the splits in the rocks seemed wider.
Others said they did not see much difference .
Indian Rock is estimated to be over 1 billion years old. It served as a meeting site for Native Americans for thousands of years before European settlers arrived in the area.
It was preserved in 1996 when it was incorporated into the local shopping center.
The Village of Montebello said it received calls about widening splits on the rock after the earthquake.
Village officials added that the rock is stable and that the village was working as of Friday evening to see if those splits and cracks are actually wider.
