Some parents say they're worried after five Catholic schools in Orange County have been put on a list of schools to possibly be shut down.
The move comes following low enrollment and rising tuition, according to the archdiocese.
The archdiocese made the list of schools public, which includes St. Josephs in New Windsor, Sacred Heart in Highland Falls, St. Augustine in Highland and Saint Thomas of Canterbury in Cornwall on the Hudson.
The archdiocese says it is giving all pastors and principals of the "at-risk" schools the opportunity to meet with them in the next few months to talk about why their school was included on the list and present reasons why it should be taken off.
A final decision on the schools is expected from the Archdiocese of New York in January.
