5th annual Wakanda Celebration brings all things African to Mount Vernon

The City of Mount Vernon celebrated African culture and traditions at the fifth annual Wakanda Celebration Saturday.
Crowds at the Traphagen School were treated to the best of the music, food and fashions of Africa.
The event was also a celebration of African artworks and the traditions of face painting.
Resident Andrea Haye explained that the symbols painted on a woman's face represent the tribe she's from.
Tanzania born and raised Rose Luangisa organized this year's event and said the purpose of the celebration was to bring all things Africa to Mount Vernon.
