A car accident in Orangetown has resulted in the death of a 68-year-old man from Tappan and left a female passenger hospitalized.

The incident occurred Thursday on Clausland Mountain Road, where the driver veered off the road and hit a large rock.

The driver was pronounced dead at Nyack Hospital, while the female passenger is in stable condition. Police believe that the driver may have experienced a medical episode.
