82-year-old man dies after possible drowning at Canopus Lake

An 82-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon after a possible drowning at Canopus Lake Beach in the town of Kent, according to police.

When emergency crews arrived, beach park staff and lifeguards were performing CPR on the man.

He was airlifted to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's name and the exact cause of death have not yet been released.
