“Man in Red Bandana” – a documentary film chronicling the heroic efforts of Welles Crowther on Sept. 11, 2001, is making its television debut next week.
Filmmaker Matthew Weiss says he hopes the film encourages people “to think a little less about themselves and a little bit more about others."
Crowther was an equities trader and volunteer firefighter who worked in the south tower of the World Trade Center. He's believed to have saved at least 12 people during the 9/11 attacks before he died at the age of 24. The grew up in Upper Nyack.
It will air on the Scientology Network’s documentary showcase at 8 p.m. on Sept. 11.
