With a slim margin of only 300 votes, the race for the state's 96th Assembly District remains too close to call.
Ten-term incumbent Assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun (R - Washingtonville) is holding on by just a few hundred votes over Orange County Legislator and Democratic challenger Roxanne Donnery.
Calhoun says she remains confident that after the nearly 1,600 absentee ballots from Orange and Rockland counties are tallied that she will be elected for another term.
Regarding the absentee ballots, officials say 700 are registered Republicans and 500 are Democrats.
Donnery says she will not concede and wants all of the votes counted because residents are ready for a change.
