Hudson Valley wine connoisseurs will soon bid a farewell to Baldwin Vineyards in Pine Bush before the new year.
After 42 years, the business is shuttering its doors by Dec. 31.
The owners made the announcement on their @baldwin_winery Instagram page, thanking the community for its unwavering support for the last few decades. "It has been an honor to be part of your celebrations, gatherings, and cherished moments" the post reads.
Owner Wendy Baldwin-Landolina called the decision bittersweet in a statement released to News 12:
“For a few reasons, and after careful consideration, we have made the decision to retire in order to prioritize our time with family and friends. We believe that life's true joys lay in the moments shared with loved ones, and we want to fully embrace that. We are excited to embark on this new chapter of our lives. Definitely a bittersweet decision.”

Baldwin-Landolina says her parents retired as the previous owners of Baldwin Vineyards in 2015.
Her mom passed away in 2019 and her father passed away soon after in 2020. Although she says her family loves the winery and their home in Pine Bush, her children are expanding on their own educational careers.
The decision to step back means the winery and their Pine Bush home are up for sale. The family plans to stay in Pine Bush because "...we love our community' said Baldwin-Landolina.

Baldwin Vineyards is inviting the community to raise a glass for a final time during their 'Farewell Weekend' event.
The event is on Dec. 16 and 17 from noon to 5 p.m. There will be music, discounts, food, wine auctions, prizes and their selection of wines will be up for sale.
