A new report claims the number of high school graduates in the Bronx and the rest of the state is on the rise.The annual report was released by the ACT. The ACT is an achievement test given to high school students across the country and measures if they are ready for the first year of college.According to the report, students in New York earned an average score of 22.9 on the test. The score is up from last year and higher than the national average. The report also said that students in New York are doing at least 10 percent better than the national average in the subjects of English, math, reading and science.The U.S. education secretary acknowledged the improvements, but said that more needs to be done so scores continue to go up.
