Carmel Central School District officials say they are appalled by an incident involving high school students posting fake, inappropriate videos on TikTok.
Administrators say many of the posts by the Carmel High School students contained racist messages. They say the students posted the inappropriate videos while posing as school officials and police.
The district released a statement saying, "The school district is committed to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe, included, welcomed and accepted. The events earlier this week were investigated and those involved in the incident are being dealt with in accordance with the code of conduct."
They say the incident, which happened earlier this week, is being handled in accordance with the district's code of conduct.
