Female pedestrian fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in West Islip

According to police, a motor vehicle was traveling westbound on Montauk Highway, near Pease Lane, when it struck a female pedestrian in the road.

Police say a female pedestrian was fatally struck in West Islip on Monday night.
According to police, a motor vehicle was traveling westbound on Montauk Highway, near Pease Lane, when it struck a female pedestrian in the roadway at approximately 10:30 p.m. The vehicle fled the scene westbound.
The victim, who has been identified by police as Tracey Dorismond, 32, of Brentwood, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
