New York has set another record after nearly 29,000 new COVID-19 cases were recorded.
The Mid-Hudson region is accounting for about 10% of those with a little more than 2,800 new cases.
Meanwhile, 124 more New Yorkers are in the hospital battling COVID-19, bringing that number over 4,400, which is still a bit lower than where it was one year ago.
"Our hospitalizations, you can see where we were last January and previous April. It's heading up. It's creeping up, but we're still two-thirds of the hospitalizations we were last year. These are not records we're happy about," says Gov. Katy Hochul.
One reason for lower hospitalizations despite cases being at an all-time high could be that more than 94% of New Yorkers 18 and up have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 shot.
Right now the Hudson Valley's seven day positivity rate sits at 7.71.
