The Town of Amenia Recreation Department announced it has canceled its 2024 summer camp due to low enrollment.
The department posted the news on its Facebook page, saying it received a lower-than-expected number of sign-ups.
Families who registered their children for this year's camp will receive full refunds of their fees within three to four weeks. The refunds will be issued by check and mailed to the addresses on file.
Anyone with questions or needing further information about the refund process can contact the Town of Amenia Recreation Department.
While the town's summer camp is canceled, there is still a summer camp option for local children. The Amenia Wassaic Community Organization (AWCO) is hosting its summer camp from July 1 to Aug. 9.
Families interested in signing their children up for the AWCO summer camp can email awcosummercamp@gmail.com.
