News 12’s coverage of Teacher Appreciation Week continues with one special educator in Greenburgh - who got a surprise from one of his students.

"Mandel Holland is a high-level history teacher is an inspiration to me and many other students," said ninth grade student Jake from Woodlands High School reading his essay about his teacher - Mandel Holland.           

The twist? Holland had no idea about the paper until Jake read it to him.           

Both Holland and Jake joined News 12 live this morning to discuss the importance of teachers in the lives of students.
