Police: Man steals more than $26,000 from market in Parkchester: News 12 is told the suspect robbed the food market on White Plains Road and Westchester Avenue just before 3 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities believe he was able to get in through a broken security gate.
The New York Giant’s last pick of the NFL draft: Tae Crowder’s future was decided on the very last pick of the draft – No. 225. Crowder was dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant” – a name bestowed upon the very last person picked in the NFL Draft. It is a name Crowder takes as a badge of honor.
Car slams into pole, sparks shutdown of intersection in Bethpage: The incident happened at the intersection of Wantagh Avenue and Hicksville Road. Nassau police say the driver hit the pole around 5:45 p.m., causing damage that brought down power lines.
Indian Point’s Unit 2 to be shut down permanently Thursday evening: The remaining reactor, Unit 3, will shut down by April 2021. Entergy, the nuclear plant’s owner and operator, says that qualified employees who are willing to relocate will not lose their jobs.
