Residents at Palisade Towers in Yonkers stood in line to get donated meals on Monday.

They've been without gas or hot water since Wednesday after a gas leak was discovered.

All 8 buildings in the complex are affected.

Yonkers City Council President Lakisha Collins- Bellamy helped out with the food giveaway on Monday.

She provided an update on the status of the situation.

"I believe on Wednesday Con [Edison] is coming back out with the grid assessment to advise us if we can handle the capacity to go electric. That is the quicker way to address the issue," Collins-Bellamy said.

She said residents have also been given hot plates and gift cards to help out with the situation.

Meanwhile, city officials said they are welcoming donations to continue helping the residents.

If you're interested in getting involved, please reach out to the City Council President's office.
