An artist is continuing his work on a mural of DMX at Nepperhan Community Center.
Demont Pinder, who lives in Washington, D.C., left early to drive to Yonkers Saturday morning.
Pinder, a friend of DMX, says he was determined to create a masterpiece at the community center that the rapper relied on as a child and continued to give back to as an adult.
Saturday was Pinder's third time making the long trip. He says all the work he has put into the mural has been worth it.
"How much love he put in the world is how much love I want to put in this mural," he says.
Pinder's mural is inspired by a music video he shot at a DMX concert in 2016.
He took a short break to see DMX's family, but will continue to work on the mural this weekend until it is finished.
