Officials in several Rockland communities gathered yesterday to discuss preparations in case Hurricane Earl or a future storm hits the area.
Earl is currently a Category 3 storm and has begun its slow trek toward the eastern seaboard.
So far the storm does not appear to be a major threat to the Hudson Valley, but just in case, officials say they are checking gear and supplies.
Emergency crews are also asking that residents have enough canned food and water to last three days.
