Three attempted abductions have put residents of one Bronx neighborhood on high alert.
According to police, a man approached three teenage girls on three different occasions earlier this month. On March 7, police say the man grabbed a 15-year-old girl's hand on University Avenue, but fled after she pulled away and resisted. Investigators say he followed a different 15-year-old female in his car on the same street later that day. The final suspected attempt occurred on March 9, when police say he followed a 13-year-old girl in his car on Andrews Avenue. Police say the girl ran onto a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus when the man got out of his car.
Police describe the suspect as 5-feet, 11-inches tall, weighing around 210 pounds. They estimate his age as 30 to 35 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call New York City Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
