Attorney Howard Tanner is asking that his client, Narcy Novack, get a public defender because she can no longer afford his legal fees.
Novack is charged with allegedly trying to hire three men to kill her millionaire husband Ben Novack Jr. at the Rye Town Hilton.
Prosecution says that Novack was hoping to inherit $10 million after her husband's death. Her legal fees are estimated at more than $1 million.
