Authorities: Green Haven inmate attacks correction officer, hurts 3 others who tried to restrain him

Authorities say the 37-year-old inmate was seen walking toward one officer acting strangely and mumbling. When two officers got in range of the man, he allegedly punched one of the officers in the face.

Authorities say an inmate attacked one correction officer and injured three others when they tried to subdue him at the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County.
They say the 37-year-old inmate was seen walking toward one officer acting strangely and mumbling. When two officers got in range of the man, he allegedly punched one of the officers in the face.
The inmate pushed the other officer away when she tried to step in, according to officials.
Two other officers were hurt when they tried to restrain the man.
The inmate is serving 14 years to life after being convicted for sexual assault.
