Authorities: Monroe man arrested for involvement in two separate crimes

Brown is facing multiple charges, including burglary, unlawful imprisonment and attempted assault. Following his arraignment, he was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.

A Monroe man has been arrested by Port Jervis police for his involvement in two criminal incidents, according to authorities.
Police say the first incident occurred on Dec. 22, when Shareaf Brown held a 21-year-old woman from Deerpark against her will. During this incident, Brown allegedly confiscated the woman's cellphone, physically assaulted her multiple times and transported her to a hotel in Newburgh. Another individual was able to assist the woman in leaving the hotel and seeking help from the police.
The second incident took place on New Year's Eve, during which Brown allegedly broke into a home on Ball Street in Port Jervis. He is accused of breaking several windows and physically assaulting a resident with a baseball bat. Brown allegedly engaged in altercations with other residents of the home and threatened them with a knife.
Brown is facing multiple charges, including burglary, unlawful imprisonment and attempted assault. Following his arraignment, he was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
