A driver was arrested Saturday morning after an SUV plowed through a family’s home in Newburgh.
Authorities say the Nissan Mirano hit the house on Woodlawn Terrace at around 2:15 a.m.
A father and his two teenage daughters were sleeping inside the home at the time.
The car just missed their bedrooms as it went through the one-story house and hit a back wall. Footage of the scene shows the vehicle protruding from the structure.
State police, the Town of Newburgh Police and the Goodwill Fire Department responded to the scene.
The man driving the vehicle was arrested and taken into state custody, according to a local fire chief.
It is currently unclear what charges the unnamed man will face.
The house was left with significant damage. Authorities say it will likely have to be torn down.
No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing.
Authorities say state police are investigating the incident.
