Beacon police say someone called the department making a threat against Rombout Middle School.
Police immediately secured the school and other schools in the district.
An investigation quickly revealed that the specifics of the threat were consistent with other false threats that have been called in throughout the country.
The Beacon Police Department is actively working with the FBI's Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force on the matter.
Police say there is no evidence that the call was made by a student of the Beacon City School District.
