Warm and dry today, hot and humid with a chance of a storm on July Fourth

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Matt Hammer says it will be warm and dry today, but there will be more humidity and a chance of a spotty storm on July Fourth.

NOW: Nice with a mix of sun and clouds today.
NEXT: More humid with a spotty shower and thunderstorm chance tomorrow through the start of the weekend. No severe weather expected.
TROPICS: Beryl continues to be a powerful hurricane, passing close, but south of Jamaica today. This storm does not pose a threat locally.
FORECAST:
TODAY: Breezy with a mix of sun and clouds with highs around 84 degrees and low humidity. UV INDEX: 9 (Very High)
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Clouds increase late with a stray shower possible after midnight. Lows near 68 degrees and turning muggier.
THURSDAY (FOURTH OF JULY): Sun and clouds. Very warm and humid. Highs around 86 degrees. There is the chance for a spotty, late day thunderstorm, but keep the outdoor holiday plans! Lows near 71 degrees and muggy.
FRIDAY: Sun and clouds. Spotty shower or thunderstorm. Most of the day ends up dry. Highs around 87 degrees and humid. Lows near 72 degrees. SATURDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm possible. Not a complete washout. Highs around 87 degrees and still humid. Lows near 72 degrees. MONDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs around 89 degrees. Lows near 68 degrees.
TUESDAY: Mainly cloudy with periods of rain showers likely. Highs around 84 degrees. Lows near 64 degrees.
