Brown, who joined the department in 1963, served for 61 years, holding various leadership positions, including board of director and chairman.
A wake will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Church Street.
Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the same location.
