The company had earlier warned of potential store closures, citing a substantial doubt about its future amid ongoing financial struggles. In its most recent earnings report, Big Lots reported a 10% decrease in sales and a net loss of $205 million for the quarter.
The Poughkeepsie location is among the 315 stores slated for closure, which is part of an updated loan agreement to secure the company's finances. Other locations in the Hudson Valley, including Middletown, Wappingers Falls, and Kingston, will remain open for now.
