Westchester County legislators have approved funding for several infrastructure and public service projects across the county.
The board approved $1.25 million to help protect residents and businesses in Mamaroneck from flooding. The village will work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the project, which targets the Mamaroneck and Sheldrake rivers.
In Yonkers, the water treatment plant is set to receive $29 million for improvements. The upgrades include new odor control systems and modernized heating and air conditioning equipment.
Lawmakers also approved $7.8 million to replace outdated voting technology. The funding will purchase new scanners for 1,100 voting machines and replace 600 electronic voting devices.
