Mayor Bloomberg (R-NY) and Governor Pataki (R-NY) are throwing their support for one project surrounding the new Yankee Stadium. A Metro-North transportation station may be part of the construction for the stadium. Pataki and Bloomberg have asked the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) board to present the plan at a meeting scheduled for this month. They want the MTA to fund the center in their capital plan. If the MTA approves the plan, it will be submitted to the MTA Capital Program Review Board. On Wednesday, the City Council is scheduled to vote on the stadium proposal. Related Story Some BX residents to rally before Council votes on Yankee Stadium plans
