Mayor Michael Bloomberg visited a South Bronx church Sunday to raise the spirits of Bronx residents during these tough economic times.
Bloomberg spoke to the parishioners at Thessalonica Christian Church on St. Ann?s Avenue to assure them that he will work to stabilize New York City?s economy and invest in the future of the Bronx.
?We're working as hard as we can to help New Yorkers during this tough time,? Bloomberg said. ?We're trying to help people hold on to their homes, we're trying to help people get food and we're investing in the future.?
Members of the church say they were humbled by Mayor Bloomberg?s appearance at their service and hope he can work to pour more resources into their community programs.
