Bloomfest marked the final day of the Cherry Blossom Festival at Branch Brook Park in Newark on Sunday.
The day was packed with events, which included cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, food and much more.
The highlight, of course, were the beautiful cherry blossom trees that attract thousands to the park each year.
People flocked from all over the region to take it all in.
Dennis Thompson and Regina O'Connell have seen the cherry blossoms in Kyoto, Japan and said this experience came pretty close.
"It's absolutely very, very close. I like it better than D.C. to be quite honest with you. The proximity to where we live it's just a wonderful experience," Thompson said.
Branch Brook Park's 5,000 cherry trees were in full bloom just at the right time for the finale of the annual cherry blossom festival.
From dawn to evening, photographers, walkers and cherry blossom lovers soaked it all in.
