Police have arrested 40-year-old Muhammad Aaddil of the Bronx and his roommate 18-year-old Ronei Harris in connection with the murder of a man and the dismemberment and burning of the victim's body.
In the early morning hours of Aug. 5 police discovered a burning body in a shopping cart underneath the Oak Street overpass on the Yonkers Mount Vernon border.
According to investigators, Addil and Harris got into an argument with 46-year-old Lutalo Henderson and killed him. Police say the two then dismembered Henderson's body, allegedly cutting off his legs below the knees, cutting off his hands and removing his jaw.
Investigators say the men then wrapped the torso in a trash bag, put it in a shopping cart, and brought it onto a Metro-North train. Police say the two eventually left the shopping cart under the overpass and set it on fire.
Investigators recovered other body parts when they tracked the case to the men's Bronx apartment.
Aadil was arraigned on multiple charges including murder in the second degree and manslaughter in the first degree. Harris will be arraigned at a later date.
