A hostage standoff in the Bronx has ended peacefully.Officials say the standoff began early Tuesday morning on Williamsbridge Road. According to police, the suspect was holding his girlfriend and two children hostage in their apartment.
Officials tell News 12 The Bronx that the man is suspected of killing another man in Queens Monday.
Police said they proceeded with caution since there were two young children in the apartment. There were hostage negotiators at the scene and police shut down several streets. Officials also evacuated the sixth floor due to the standoff.Sources say that no one was injured and the suspect is now under arrest. Charges are pending against the man and his girlfriend, who is a corrections officer, is being questioned about her role in the standoff.
