Electricity was restored Monday to the Adams Houses complex after tenants say they spent a night in the dark ? again.
The six-hour blackout affected buildings at 680 Tinton Ave. and 815 E. 152nd St. in the complex. Many tenants complained they were forced to comfort their scared children and feel around in the dark. They say the complex is plagued by unexplained outages, especially during the summer.
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) blames the latest outage on 3,000 fuses that blew out. NYCHA says technicians are working to solve the problem. The agency maintains heating and hot water were not affected in the latest blackout.
