Two Bronx men have been charged in an $11 million heroin bust following a six-month investigation.
According to the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force, Guillermo Margarin and Edualin Tapia were tracked from an alleged heroin mill at 3873 Orloff Ave., carrying suitcases and a white box, to a home in Hartford, Conn. last week.
Authorities say they then uncovered more than 50 pounds of heroin, nearly 20 pounds of cocaine, and $85,000 in cash. They believe the drugs were meant to be distributed in Connecticut and further north where the street value is double compared to New York City.
Police also raided a Bronx storage locker at Extra Storage Space on Zerega Avenue where then discovered two assault rifles, a loaded handgun and more drugs.
Both men are facing federal charges for criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy.
