? A Bronx mother and her boyfriend are facing child endangerment charges after they failed to get help for the mother?s severely scalded daughter.
Francis Viera was allegedly in the bathroom of his Cross Bronx Expressway apartment when 2-year-old Anita Rodriguez fell into a bathtub of hot water Sunday. A neighbor alerted the Administration for Children?s Services (ACS) Tuesday, saying the mother, Yolanda Rodriguez, did not appear to know how to care for the child and that she was a drug user. Residents also say Rodriguez tried to cover up the burns, but the clothes were sticking to the girl?s skin.
ACS says it has investigated the home before, but found any allegations to be unfounded. The agency has now removed a 3-year-old boy from the home.
Anita Rodriguez is in stable condition.
